The Woodlands Waterway Marriott – The Woodlands, Texas

If you are looking for a good hotel outside of Houston, Texas; check out The Woodlands Waterway Marriott. It is a very nice Marriott hotel that is located about 30 minutes away from IAH Airport. The Hotel is located right on the waterway and has plenty of local restaurants and a mall all within walking distance of the hotel. The hotel also has an attached confrere and convention center with plenty of space for your events.

Checkin was easy and my room was available at 1:30 PM. The room I received is a King Bed room with a balcony overlooking the waterway. It was located on the 11th floor (14 floors total). Since I have Platinum status with Marriott, my stay included access to the Executive Lounge on the 14th floor. The few times I visited the lounge, the food selection was less then ideal, but its great to be able to just pop in and grab a cold bottle of water on your way out.

Walking on the waterway is very relaxing and not crowded. Across the waterway from the hotel is a KOI pond with plenty of fish to look at.

At night, all of the trees light up guiding you along the path.

One of the issues I ran into is I could never get the Marriott Mobile Key to work. After attempts with front desk, support, etc, it still won’t work. I ended up giving up after trying for 4 days. Would have loved the connivance of it.
