W Chicago Lakeshore

For the second year in a row, I stayed at the W Hotel – Chicago Lakeshore location. This hotel is very close to Navy Pier and is in a really good location in Chicago. This year I was upgraded to one of the Suites that offer a view of the lake. The Suite was located on the 30th floor of the hotel and featured two bathrooms, large king bed, huge bath, and a living room with bar.

The Living room featured a large J shaped couch that would easily sit 6 people. It had dimmable overhead lights and a great view out the window of Navy Pier. There was also a Wet-bar with a Fridge, Sink, and plenty of storage. The only disappointment was that the record player was missing the needle. I called down and reported it at check in, but it was never fixed durring my stay.

The Bedroom featured built in closet, another TV, and a large soaker bath tub. The bathtub was in the middle of the bedroom area so you wont be able to take a bath alone if you have other people over. However there is a door between the bedroom and living room.

On the other side of the bedroom was a MASSIVE walk in shower. This shower featured two shower heads that were controlled by the same valve. It would be nice if this shower featured more features like spray massagers, etc.

Off the Bedroom was two Vanity areas and another Toilet.

In Total this room featured 1 Bed, 1 Large Shower, 2 Toilets, 3 Vanities, a Wet-Bar, Large couch. You could easily host people over in your room and make it your central meeting spot.

If you do ever plan on visiting Chicago, I would put this hotel at the top of your list. From Valet to check out, every staff member at this hotel is amazing. If any staff member passes you in the hall, they will ask you how you are and and if you need anything. Also, on random Fridays and Saturday’s, they have a “Tipsy Lift” where there is a W Staff member with a portable bar cart in one of the hotels 4 elevators offering free drinks.
